From an early age, Yasith discovered his passion for music, showcasing his talent not only as a
bassist but also as a skilled Euphonium and Trumpet player. He is a tasteful guitarist and a well-
known figure in the music band industry, having earned an excellent reputation among his peers. Yasith’s passion spans multiple genres, including Rock, Jazz, Fusion, Soul, and Rhythm &
Blues.
He began his musical journey with the "Chill Out" western band as a bassist, which provided
him with his first opportunity to travel to the UAE. During this time, he had the privilege of
performing alongside renowned Sri Lankan artists, including the late Ronie Leech, and he has
played at numerous local gigs and concerts. Yasith has also collaborated with legendary figures
in Sri Lanka’s music scene, such as Bathiya and Santhush (BnS) and Sunil Perera. His
dedication and skill make him a vital asset to DOWNTOWN, enriching the band's sound and
performance.
